Dr. Darrell Caudill joins the VeinInnovations team!

This June 2011, Dr. Darrell Caudill, formerly of OH2 Medical Spa in Alpharetta, GA, joined the VeinInnovations team. Dr. Caudill is board certified in both general and thoracic and cardiovascular surgery. He has been practicing in the Atlanta area since 1973, first at Georgia Baptist Medical Center where he initiated the first intra aortic balloon in the state of Georgia. He later became chief of the cardiac surgery section at Georgia Baptist. Dr. Caudill expanded his practice in the early 90′s to Saint Joseph’s Hospital with Atlanta Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery Associates. Dr. Caudill retired from cardiac surgery in 2006 to devote himself full time to the treatment of venous disease. VeinInnovations is very excited to welcome him to the practice!

VEININNOVATIONS spends the weekend at Lenox Mall

VEININNOVATIONS, along with The ATLANTAN magazine and Fernbank Museum, sponsored Simon Fashion NOW, Lenox Square Mall’s weekend of fashion, April 1 and 2.

Aveda, Bloomingdales, Sephora and many other stores and businesses set up booths in the Neiman Marcus wing to promote their products, services and give away free samples. Attendees watched the first fashion show of the weekend with spring fashions from Anthropologie, Steve Madden, JOE’S Jeans and many others. To finish the evening, Bauder College students competed in a design competition showcasing spring’s hottest looks for adoptable dogs from the Atlanta Humane Society and the celebrity models who love them, like Wendy Adams from Q100 and Julie Martin form the Weather Channel. VI also contributed one certificate for a consultation and one ½ hour of sclerotherapy for the silent auction benefiting the Atlanta Humane Society. Louis G. Prevosti MD, FACS, LaLona Richards, Mrs. Georgia America 2010, and David Martin, Clinical Director and Managing Partner all spoke on behalf of VEININNOVATIONS.

The next day at Lenox Mall there were runway shows and giveaways throughout the main floor, including fashions from Stuart Weitzman, Brooks Brothers, Ann Taylor and Banana Republic. VEININNOVATIONS set up a booth for mall visitors to visit all throughout the day from 11am-7pm. They offered free ultrasound screenings and an opportunity to speak with Dr. Prevosti, David Martin, RN, CRNFA, Michelle Merka, RVT, Shelby Gutenberger, Business Development and Mrs. Georgia America 2010, LaLona Richards.

VeinInnovations supports Mrs. Georgia

Mrs. Georgia, LaLona Richards, reached out to VeinInnovations seeking promotion and support for her 2010 campaign. She wanted one medical practice in Atlanta that focused specifically on veins and VI was delighted to support a candidate who placed high importance on health, fitness and education. LaLona graduated from the University of Virginia and soon found one of her passions, teaching. She applied and was accepted to “Teach for America.” This program recruits top college students to teach for two years in some of America’s toughest schools. LaLona also taught 7^th and 8^th grade in Arizona and in Georgia. Fitness, nutrition and overall health also play a huge role in LaLona’s life. She is a personal trainer, nutrition coach and an advocate for healthy living.

VeinInnovations Makes its Debut on Lake Oconee

VeinInnovations wanted to fill a need for people and potential patients outside the greater Atlanta area and saw an opportunity less than 100 miles away in the lake country of GA, Lake Oconee.

On Tuesday, August 24, VeinInnovations will hit the road for a free seminar and vein screening on Lake Oconee. The event will take place at The Lodge, 930 Greensboro Rd. in Eatonton. Dr. Louis Prevosti will begin the seminar at 5pm to discuss venous disease, varicose veins and spider veins and how VeinInnovations treats these disorders. He will answer all of your vein health questions and describe how he can help you achieve great legs for life!

She’s Got Legs!

On April 28, VeinInnovations, in conjunction with Best Self Magazine and the Concourse Athletic Club held a healthy leg seminar that benefited Skyland Trail, a non-profit mental health organization.

Approximately 50 ladies enjoyed wine and h’orderves from Luxe Arrangements during the reception. This was followed by a demonstration of specific leg exercises by a Concourse personal trainer and a presentation given by VeinInnovations. Dr. Prevosti, a VI vein specialist, spoke to the attendees regarding diagnosis, risk factors, and modern treatment of varicose veins and spider veins. The evening ended with a raffle for prizes of free sclerotherapy sessions from VeinInnovations. In attendance were VeinInnovations staff, David Martin, CEO/President, Louis Prevosti, MD, Lucille Pretlow, Director of Operations, Jana Emmett, Clinic Director, Suzanne Ruddle, Senior Vascular Technician and Shelby Gutenberger, Business Development.

VEININNOVATIONS supports the St. Baldrick’s Foundation

Back in 2000, three Irish Americans decided to turn their office St. Patricks Day party into a benefit for kids with cancer. They came up with idea of shaving their heads in solidarity with children who often lose their hair while undergoing treatment. The three planned to raise “$17,000 on the 17th,” recruiting 17 colleagues to raise $1,000 each to be shorn. Instead, the first St. Baldrick’s event, held on March 17, 2000, raised over $104,000!

Now thousands of volunteers have shaved their heads in solidarity for children who have cancer, while raising funds through donations from friends and family. In a short numbers of years these brave volunteers, called Shavees, have raised over $68 million and St. Baldrick’s has become the world’s largest volunteer-driven fundraising event for childhood cancer research.

St. Baldrick’s donors and volunteers made possible over $15 million in funding for childhood cancer research in 2008. This includes 47 grants as well as funding for 30 young doctors who will be tomorrow’s top researchers.

Suzie Ruddle works with Veininnovations as their Senior Vascular Technologist and first became involved with St. Baldrick’s in 2007 through her good friends, Donal and Karen. She first shaved her head at that time and then again in 2009! Donal and Karen’s daughter Ciara was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer rhabdomyosarcoma at 23 months, undergoing 24 months of chemotherapy. Thanks to recent research Ciara is a very healthy and happy 10 year old 5th grader with a passion for reading and loves to Irish Dance.

While St. Baldrick’s raises money for a very serious cause, something strange happens at a St. Baldrick’s event. People who normally shy away from the very thought of childhood cancer find themselves compelled to support the cause after looking into the faces of these brave children who are smiling broadly as their friends and family display their newly shorn heads!
