
Dr. Chris E. Malone attended medical school at the University of Texas, graduating in 1981. He completed his General Surgery residency at UT in 1986, and his Cardiovascular and Thoracic residencies and fellowship at Emory in 1989. Dr. Malone then returned to Texas to establish the Cardiovascular Program at the Texoma Medical Center.
After 5 years in Texas Dr. Malone and his family wished to return to Georgia, and they settled in Athens in 1994.
Dr. Malone is well known to the Athens area, having practiced here as a Vascular, Cardiac, and Thoracic surgeon from 1994 to 2005. Additionally, he served as Chief of Surgery at Athens Regional Medical Center from 1998 to 2002.
In 2005, Dr. Malone moved to Gainesville, GA, and limited his practice to Vascular and Thoracic Surgery. During that time he helped develop and manage a vein practice, which is located in the Greater Atlanta area. He has now returned to Athens to open the first full service vein center in the Clarke/Oconee County area: VEININNOVATIONS of Athens.
